MEET OUR ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Latoya Nickeela Walker (socially known as Latoya Nickee) is a passionate dance educator, dance ministry consultant, and choreographer based in Connecticut. With over 15 years of teaching and 30 years of formal training, she combines artistic excellence with a deep commitment to community engagement. As the Artistic Director, she provides dance education that blends strong technique with Biblically sound ministry (for youth, teens, and adults).
Latoya graduated from the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts and continued her studies at LIU Brooklyn and Central Connecticut State University, where she expanded her knowledge base in both dance and sociology. Professionally, she has worked under renowned choreographers such as Deborah A. Goffe, Jennifer Weber, and Brian Brooks Moving Company - experiences that continue to shape her creativity. Outside of the company, Latoya has conducted workshops and residencies focused on social-emotional learning and team-building through dance conditioning. These forms of programming have been offered through partnerships with organizations like Arts for Learning Connecticut, reaching K-12 schools across the state.
She has been highlighted by the Urban League of Greater Hartford Young Professionals as a local arts leader and advocate. Latoya continues to inspire many through her asserted belief that dance is more than entertainment - rather it is a tool for ministry, healing, and social change.

DANCE MINISTRY CONSULTING
Our Artistic Director has served as a strategist for church dance teams, ensuring their alignment with Biblical principles and artistic excellence. She has worked with existing and budding ministries to improve technical skills, deepen Biblical knowledge, and establish organizational structure. She aids in moving dancers from a performance mindset to a ministry mindset, while maintaining a standard of artistic excellence. Consulting services can be provided individually, but are combined in the Implementation Package (which is recommended for optimal coaching outcomes).
